Your dog barked right through the take? Drop the video or audio file below. Voice only keeps the human voice and pulls the barking down. In our tests a dog barking while someone talked came out between 14 dB quieter and gone completely, depending on the recording, and about 44 dB quieter on average. Birdsong came down by up to 80 dB. It does not clear every recording completely, so listen before you publish. No sign-up, no watermark, 10 files a day.
Voice only keeps the human voice and pulls barking and birdsong down. Two people talking at the same time? No setting here reliably separates two voices: Voice only can lose or swap the voice, so try Standard clean-up and listen to the result.
Video (MP4, MOV, MKV, WEBM) or audio (MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG), up to 45 minutes and 1 GB. A video comes back as the same video with the cleaned sound; the picture is copied, not re-encoded. You also get the cleaned MP3 and a lossless WAV.
No watermark, no sign-up, 10 files a day. Files up to 45 minutes free. A pass allows longer files and more files a day.
| Situation | In our tests |
|---|---|
| A dog barking while someone talks | from 14 dB quieter to gone, about 44 dB on average |
| A loud dog over a quiet voice | much quieter, on some recordings gone completely |
| Birdsong behind a voice | up to 80 dB quieter |
| Two people talking at the same time | no promise: it can lose or swap the voice |
Every 10 dB sounds roughly half as loud, so 20 dB quieter is about a quarter of the loudness. These numbers come from a small set of test recordings where we knew exactly what the clean voice sounded like. Your recording will differ, and a word that a bark completely drowned out when you recorded it cannot be brought back.
It is the same tool for audio files. A voice memo, a podcast episode, a Zoom call or a voice-over with the neighbour's dog behind it: upload the MP3, WAV or M4A as it is and download the cleaned version. You don't need a video editor or a plugin, and it runs online in the browser.
Filming or recording outside often means birdsong under every sentence. Voice only treats it like the barking: it keeps the voice and pulls the birds down, in our tests by up to 80 dB. Wind is a different problem that hits the microphone itself; see remove wind noise from audio for what comes out there.
Voice only is built to keep the human voice and pull the rest down. We measured dogs and birds only. We expect other animals, such as a cat or a rooster, to come down as well, but we have not tested them, so try one file first. We also left howling and whining out of our tests, so we can't say how well those come out.
A bark shares pitch and rhythm with speech. Gentle, Balanced and Strong are built to keep anything that sounds like a voice, so a bark comes out quieter but can stay partly audible. On average across our test recordings, Voice only took barking during speech down a good deal further than Strong did. That is why this page opens with Voice only already selected.
If Voice only can't run at that moment, your file gets our other clean-up instead and the result says so. The same mode is on the page to isolate voice from background noise, and the general guide to remove background noise from video covers hum, fans and traffic.

Yes. Upload an MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC or OGG file and you get a cleaned MP3 and WAV back. Nothing to install.
Not always. In our tests a dog barking while someone talked came out between 14 dB quieter and gone completely, about 44 dB quieter on average. It does not do that on every recording, so listen to the result first.
Voice only is built to keep the voice. On clean speech in our tests the words stayed the same and the level moved by about 1 dB at most.
Yes, birdsong is pulled down the same way as barking: by up to 80 dB in our tests. Wind noise is a different problem, with its own page.
We measured dogs and birds only. We expect other animals to come down as well, but have not tested them, so try one file first.
Not reliably. With two people talking over each other, Voice only lost or swapped the voice on two of four test recordings. No setting here reliably separates two voices; try Standard clean-up and listen to the result.
No. The picture is copied as it is and only the sound is replaced, so you get the same video back with cleaner audio.
